« One who has fallen because of their sins must remember Hashem. There is absolutely no such thing as a fall in the world — for even from there, it is possible to return to God. » (Likutey Halakhot, Rabbi Nathan of Breslov)

Sometimes we fall. We make choices we regret, feel stained, cut off, or lost. But Rabbi Nathan makes a powerful statement: there is absolutely no such thing as a fall in the world. Even someone who believes they’ve hit rock bottom is not beyond reach — because even from there, one can return to Hashem.

The key, he says, is to remember. To remember that Hashem exists, that He loves us, that He is waiting. As long as that memory remains — even faintly, even in a distant corner of our awareness — the way back is still open.

This doesn’t mean denying the sin or minimizing the pain. But it does mean refusing despair. It means believing that no place is too far for God to be there. And sometimes, that memory alone — “Hashem is still here” — becomes the first step toward healing.
